taytho... you don't have to read it...
iGary: I suspected as much. I must admit I lifted an eyebrow even here in liberal Scandinavia.

What about other parts of the world? Australia? UK?

I had no idea what you were talking about, as the concept of scrolling past the first picture didn't even occur to me. I literally spent a minute trying to figure out what you meant, while staring at the first picture, until it finally hit me.

And there was a bit of the ⌥-⌘-'+' zoom thing going on, which didn't help.

Nice glasswork, by the way. clayj would appreciate them.

And, no, it wouldn't work here. Which is sad. Can't show anything like that, but no problems showing dead bodies on the TV.

In the US they'd probably Photoshop the first picture so a picture of a handgun blocked the view of the naked human form.

I really don't think it's that shocking and I'm guessing if it's in the context of an art based story I think it would be OK in the UK.

Wow.... i totally wiffed on that. haah. Yeah, iGary is spot on on this one. It really is a shame though because this country allows some crazy stuff on to tv. Murder, dead bodies, cussing like crazy, but as soon as janet jacksons breast is exposed that better be a nation big F@#$ing deal that everyone needs to be up in arms about. Everyone has seen a boob or two in your lifetime.... its natural..... most of us ate from one for the first couple years of our life. I dont know. I have never had a problem with nudity since it is as natural as it gets, but that might just be me

they'd get a lot of hits, a lot of angry conservatives, a lot of contreversy, a lot ppl coming back for more. There would be protests against them as pornographers, the art community would howl, and then 100 years of legal precendant would get crammed down the throats of conservatives. By which time nobody would give a dman b/c the online site would have run out of funds and the owner would be working as the night-shift supervisor @ the local Kinkos.

I can see into the future

That's somewhat of a fallacious argument. Context is key. Does the US take an overly rigid stance regarding nudity and sex, yes. But certainly not to the degree that arm-chair pundits portray it as. The reason why "Murder, dead bodies, and cussing like crazy" are allowed on tv is because they are almost always kept to appropriate avenues with disclaimers so people know whether the show would be appropriate their children. NYPD Blue has had lots of violent content, strong language, and nudity and it is allowed with only a modicum of outcry because it's expected. If they had extreme violence and foul language in sesame street, there'd likely be an even larger outcry than there was over Jackson's "Wardrobe Malfunction." because it is an even less appropriate venue for such content.
