that's a tough one, jef, I mean eye....

if I wasn't doing 3D animation and graphics, I'd probably still be coding in C++ or moved on to Java.

But if I didn't have to work at a real job, I'd still do what I'm doing, just more of it on my own projects.

if I wasn't a student I would probably be a bum - I mean a real homeless no-future drunkard with a cynical view on life and social relationships...

but damn, in that case I wouldn't be able to afford my nice Apple gadgets! life as a bum would suck!!! well I could always try to make some bucks on "bumfights", but if I bought an iBook (for example), my bum-"friends" would instantly steal it and sell it for crack and alcohol...

so I better stay a student... I can be no-future drunkard with a cynical view on life and social relationships but without being homeless... ;)

If I weren't a programmer/businessperson and school volunteer, I'd be a computer teacher: elementary, middle school, or high school. I'm good with computers, good at teaching, and good at teaching about computers (which does not always follow from being good with computers and good at teaching). And I enjoy working with kids.

On the other hand, I'm lousy at discipline so I'd probably turn out to be a lousy public school teacher in practice. Therefore, I'd probably work as an adult-school or training institute computer instructor.

But then I'd miss the kids, so let's make it an Apple Education representative/trainer, helping schools and teachers get set up and learn to use their Macs.

But then I'd miss programming. So I should work for Apple as a programmer.

But I'd still miss the kids. I think I'll unfantasize and keep doing what I'm doing now.

If I wasn't a PC computer guy, I would be a programmer in Texas. (Although with the current cutbacks on CS major jobs, I am kind of glad my path led me this way.)

Sounds more like Sartre than Nietzche...are you from Alsace? ;) (j/k -- really!)

If I weren't in my current grind, I'd open a coffee shop.

If I wasn't a network engineer I'd be an intellectual property lawyer or a corporate lawyer. Those days will come one day if I truly burn out on the IP.

    EDIT: IP == Internet Protocol.

Being a bum is what Airport is for. Think of all the people out there with unprotected/insecure/broadcasting 802.11 networks.

All you need is an outside outlet to plug your battery charger into. Instant bum.

Heat? Not a problem if you've got your machine - right? :)

You can be a bum right in front of any given Apple store with connectivity and airport (all of them?)

    The wonders of modern technology.

I'd still be in design... either working as an Industrial Product Designer or as a Transport Designer.

Maybe a guitarist in a band, I was in a band years ago and it was great laugh...

It'd inevitably be something creative though.... it's in my nature to create things... :)

There's only one way to find out.;)

Fantastic furniture design program in Fort Bragg, Ca. Also has the benefit of being one of the most gorgeous areas I've ever seen.

Interior design is a 2 year degree at one of the community colleges I went to.

If I wasn't doing what I'm doing now, I'd be doing something else. Who knows what that would be. I should have learned to play the banjo.

If I wasn't on the path that I was heading at this moment in my life, I would have probably killed myself by now.

Hmmmm. If I weren't a designer who owned his own freelance company... I'd probably be a photographer, making some cash off of stock photos... Oh Wait. :) I DO that ALREADY.

Ok. Seriously.... I'd be a musician in an awesome band. Oh. Wait. I do that too.

Ok. Ok. Ok.... Maybe I'd help the band write grants to open a club! Yes! That's what i'd do.

But I'm currently doing that right now.

Hm. I guess there's always the production angle....and the record label.... But I plan to do all of those too!

See, I believe that if you're smart enough, you can do whatever you want, and there are no limitations to that. I happen to be very ambitious, very smart, and unlike a lot of people, determined and confident enough to get stuff done.

So yea, I don't need to be musing about what I COULD be doing. I just do it. And now I must run and get stuff done.

    :)

If I hadn't chosen music and teaching, then I would have been an Egyptologist. I love reading anything about ancient Egypt, and hate these specials they keep having where they don't really tell you anything new at the end, they just drag you along for 2 hours with stuff that's already known. ;(

    Regards,
    Gus

I love nursing because of getting to help people, making a difference someone life is just a special feeling.

I have always said that if I had no interest in making money, I would have been a physics major - As it stands, engineering has served me well.

I'm currently preparing for the LSAT though, so there is a change coming.

Probably still be in the studio, recording, could be in a band, might even be acting.

I would like to have got into film sound mixing earlier and done it at the level I recorded bands at, that'd be cool.

Other than that, I guess i'd be in porn.;)

If I weren't a physician, I'd be a veterinarian. Often I wish I had gone down that path instead of the one I chose.
