whats really needed for Mac network gaming,Basically?

    just wanna know what i have to purchase if 6 of my mates want a multiplayer gaming night?

    what would we need? wondering what me must buy

    i know we all got to have a network card or airport
    but do i need a hub?

    any help would be gratley appreciated.

    a simple ethernet hub should be all you need. they are far cheaper than routers. it will cost you about 20-30$. if its more than that then look elsewhere.

    splurge on a switch, not a hub if you're going wired, splurge on a wifi base station if you're going wireless (which, btw, I dont recommend for gaming).
    Grab a few (patch) cables (category 5/5e/6) too, or geta big box of like a thousand feet, some tools and figure out how to make your own :)

    well if u and ur mates have a wireless card, then i think thats the best..just need a wireless hub/router..which is very common these days.some one may be already having that...and no need of the messy wires..
