It seems we have a troll infestation problem. It seems all I've been hearing lately is trolls that, trolls this, and trolls everywhere!

Have the trolls crawled out from under the bridge? Or poured out of the witch's house? Or flooded in from the PC forums? Or were they merely impostors who secretly wish they are real trolls? Or some figured, maybe since Mac users are so easy to troll, it'd be a great practice for the real Troll Games?

This is a medal of honor to you, honored trolls. May your pathetic, meaningless lives take a shine from the attention I have provided you with this post. Behold!

I noticed that, too. Seems like a lot of newbies with attitudes.

"Hey I stole some software and it won't work."

"Sorry, we can't help you with illegal stuff."

"Don't preach to me and be all high and mighty blah de blah de blah."

There's a serious buzz about Apple at the mo. Those who don't want to jump on the bandwagon are jeering impotently from the sidelines.

    Losers.

Maybe you are the problem? And don't accuse people of being trolls until you read and learn all the facts first! This sort of posts just boils my blood! [IMG]

I think it's just all the media attention Apple has gotten lately, especially Tiger and the inevitable, mostly MS negative, comparisons to Longhorn.

As much as I am a Mac fan, and a very long term MS detractor, I have never visited a PC forum to throw stones. I think a lot, but certainly not all, of the trolling comes from the younger gaming crowd.

I would report, but it would be a conflict of interest. [IMG]

Well, if they were skinheads, I'd say we should loss.take them bowling , but since they're not, I'm frankly at a loss. :(

I did particularly appreciate the one where someone complained because their gold master would not install. Might as well make their sig, "Golly, I'm breaking the law! :)"

Or is the appropriate aphorism that, when you're a troll, everything looks like a drawbridge?

*hopes this thread isn't actually about him*

Lacero, you should take reading comprehension 101. This post isn't referring to anyone in particular, just the general air of the forums lately.

This place is great, and I love the way it is moderated.

I used to run a political discussion board that was "no rules," and I had my e-mail accounts hacked, my board hijacked by a disloyal moderator (locked me out) etc. etc. etc.

    Rules definitely work.

It's the first Mac I've personally owned, yes. Used to use one quite infrequently when I worked for Microsoft (supporting Excel on the Mac).

    Trollsters

Yes, I've noticed a couple of threads with questionable intentions. I say we just send the Knights MacRumborites after them.

Classic example was the clown that posted the PM G4 he turned into a trash bin. He was looking to get a rise out of us. Moronic Fool.

I do think that these forums are sometimes too quick to judge/accuse/chastise: especially on pirating issues. That's just my opinion.

    Otherwise, great community.

    Knights MacRumborites... Charge!

    But he did. *sigh*

The easiest way to control this is to just let them do what they do until they get bored.

Raven, if you look up "lacero" in the dictionary, the definition is "...oblique approach, liable to be misunderstood on the surface but often carrying undercurrents of satire or irony"

The problem with satirical posts, of course, is that they can go either way - the poster can say "No I was serious" or "didn't you see I was being satirical?" depending...
