Anybody got a really interesting name for their computer? For some reason, I've always named my machines after women. Maybe it's because they're so temperamental :D

    8500/150 Powermac - Betsy
    G3 Pismo Powerbook- Val
    G4 Powermac Server - Nia
    G4 Ti Powerbook - Mariko

I used to change mine whenever I was in the mood, but it's been "Superego" for several years now. For those who don't know it's a psychology thing. At the time I had just renamed it from "id".

    Right now it's just Supercube

But right now it seems to be attracting a lot of bugs, mostly at night...that could be my LCD monitor, though.

    Then I step in.

Perhaps I should call mine the Bugzapper.

    Mine is named "Phlegethon"

The river that flows with fire which burns and does not consume. It is one of the five principal rivers in the realms of Hades.

when i first saw the icebook ibooks, i thought of calling them the "FUJITSU" lifebook ibooks

that's exactly what they look like to the untrained eye

and the 12 inch powerbook looks like the "ibook plus" to me....or "g4 ibook";)

Usually my Macs just have been "Macintosh HD".
    A few exceptions:

    Blinky - iMac 333
Nemo - 400 Pismo (it was called that way before "Finding Nemo" BTW)
    Spanky - DP 1.25 Ghz PM G4

    The Mothership
Network connection setting? You guessed it... The Mothership Connection!

I've always had more fun naming the various drives... Big Booty, Satan's Little Helper, two partitions named Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, Heavy Lifter, Back That Ass Up (backup drive of course). I once had a whole slew of syquest cartridges with biblical names beginning with M. It started with Moses since it traveled, then it got tough after a while, Mordechai, Methusila, and a dozen others.

    My iMac - batman

    My brother's iMac - superman

    My father's old 7200 (with a 7500 mobo and a ZIF G3/400Mhz upgrade) - spiderman

    My father's geological workstation - the_hulk

Can anyone detect a certain trend? ;)

Those names are also the network names of the computers. All of them are connected via Airport or the x86 equivalent.
