I just thought of this, and I think it would be cool if people explain how, and why they chose that perticular name; there are some pretty different and confusing names like wdlove, Rower_CPU, HexMonkey.

I chose my user name because it represents what I like to do.

    I like music. :D

Mine comes from a character I created for a role-playing game called "The Dark Eye". It's been a priest called "Veldek Barain". This name has its origin in a character in Star Trek - Deep Space 9 called "Vedek Bareil".

Being the highly creative type that I am, I found inspiration in the name of my Apple laptop.

Reminds me of an episode from the Simpsons. The one where Homer joined the Stonecutters....

"They looked deep into my soul and assigned me a number based on the order in which I joined."

Shyeah right and monkey's might fly out of my butt... :)

    How about this quote

"I'm an American, our names don't mean anything." Butch...

I took my handle cause it fits. Physically I am a classic knuckle dragger. Tall, stocky, hairy with a forehead made for crushing things. Add on to that an instinctively geek nature and the true meaning of the name "Mongo" it all fits.

an old alias I would use for playing video games as a child.

Back then I thought it was cool.

    YO...MAN

Anyways I chose it for here b/c it brings back fond memories of wasting hours on end playing video games. Much like the time I spend surfing the forums today. :)

My username is just my initials. Does it mean anything that it happens to be Mac spelled backwards? Hmmmmm.

Do you mean to say that "Kwyjibo" isn't a word?

Mine comes from a college generated pun. Last name is Kingsley.
That stuff is King Sleaze. (so I can't spell) :D

Well, as much as I would love to believe that Bart is a Spelling Bee champion, I am going to have to say no to that being a word.

As for my screen name, it was an old AOL screen name I used combining my favorite band (The Left Banke) and a number I am somewhat partial to (big Denver Broncos fan).

Once I knew how to spell "rendezvous," I thought it was a really cool word. "Cp" is from the command for copy, so rendezvouscp comes out. Just sounds cool when I (or you) say it, and I've been able to sign up for anything under that name. As a perfectionist, that is what truly matters.

When I was in a car club couple years ago, my friends called me Uncle Jesse (from the Dukes, because I drive a white 78 Ford F150). So I use Unclej78 and the 78 being the year of my truck.

I took my name from the extended Star Wars universe. The Grand Admiral is the main Imperial character in Thimoty Zahn's excellent Thrawn triology. Highly recomended reading, by the way...

J is for for Jack (My first name)
alex is for Alexander (My middle name)
I have no idea where I thought up ster from.

Although, it might have been Jalexander, but I only thought of that, after I started using Jalexster as my user name on nearly every site. I'm also known as Jalex_australia. Try and work out why.

    I just don't get it! ;)

I don't know if you are familiar with SNL, but wasn't that one of the skits one time? I remember something about a copying machine, and the guy would call everyone (their name)ster. Lol.

Oh, and alexander is a cool middle name. But I may be a little partial to it (that's my middle name).

I promise I won't edit this post any more.

well anything with either poopy or monkeys is funny
unfortunately the monkey and poo combination I tried was taken
    so
based on this I went with a common childhood taunt appropriate for me but never actually used towards me

    [beta code]

I don't want to get too deep into this but I used to be a mad keen microsoft beta tester, since then the reason for keeping [beta code] has changed, evolved.

I call myself [beta code] since I'm constantly learning / changing / growing as a person and expanding my horizons. So each person is a little like a line of beta code. Never quite perfect, always striving to be better.
