I noticed that on the Aspyr site, it says that I can Pre-Order BF1942. I was wondering when BF1942 for the mac was supposed to be shipping. Anyone know? Hopefully it will be shipping soon.

I believe that that Aspyr's site says that it will ship this month. I was just looking at that last night myself.

Excellent. I'll be picking up a copy as soon as it hits Australia. The Mac version comes bundled with Road to Rome as well doesn't it?

Great... I suppose that it will run decently on my machine (see sig).

Battlefield 1942 is a excellent game for PC and now for the Mac too-I was very thrilled with the gameplay and graphics.I don't know if the Mac version comes with the expansion packs, but I have the Battlefield 1942:Reload version which does come with the Road to Rome exp. pack and BF1942 on PC, for AUD$49.95-maybe Aspyr will do a similar package with the Mac version

It should probably run well on your 12" PowerBook. I owned BF1942 when I had a PC, and it ran quite well on that at decent resolution/detail settings (Athlon XP 2000+, 512MB RAM, 64MB ATI Radeon 9100 (aka: Radeon 8500)).

BF1942 was looked great, and with stunning graphics quality on my PC, which has a FX5200 (similar to the one used in the iMac,but mine has 128MB of VRAM). It would run fine on the new Powerbooks/eMac/iBook or G5.

I was always a bit disappointed with the 1942 GFX engine on my games box. I mean, sit it next to Call of Duty or Wolfenstein ET, and then say how wonderful it is. I bought RTR and the original on release, the demos were so damn cool... looks like I'm going to have to buy it all over again for some portable stress-relief!

It's all good, Aspyr deserve my money for keeping the cause alive... now I just hope the crappy mobile FX5200 will handle the strain.

BF1942 does indeed come with The Road to Rome expansion.
