I heard about the 1 TB 3.5" PATA/SATA drives and was wondering who sells those at the moment.

I would be surprised to see these in a PATA config. The company that announced them was Hitachi.

They do exist (SATA) but I have yet to find a vendor that has or is expecting them. If you need one your only solution is to buy a Dell with one (or more) and then scrap/sell the machine minus the HDD.

I think only as a 2x500. You can get those from most vendors, though.

    cheers.

You're right. I checked the Dell website and they have the 1 TB as a special upgrade!

My goodness now why didn't Apple get some?

Yeah, mirrored RAID drives don't quite count since you can't install onto a regular desktop :)

You can't connect mirrored drives to the SATA interface (or PATA) within a desktop. Won't fit.
