    Once again! GOOGLE!

I don't know what OS you are running. But since you are trying to jailbreak, I'm assuming you have a PC. I don't know where that is because I transferred mine over from my mac. I would check in the iTunes folder in programs. Google will tell you more than I can.

You first make sure that you have downloaded the firmware through iTunes.

Using XP or Vista. you need to open "My Computer"

XP - go to the top menu and slect options > Folder Options

Vista - Top left button that says Organize > Folder and Search Options

In that window you need to click the " VIEW " tab on top.

    NEED TO SELECT

" SHOW HIDEN FILES AND FOLDERS "

Then unclick the option to " hide protected operating system files "

Once that's done click "apply" then ok and exit out of the window.

    then go to this dir

    users > "USERNAME" > appdata > roaming > apple computer > itunes >

and the folder holding the downloaded file will be there. :D

    Ok,

I have read through the forum and I have successfully jailbroken my phone several times on a PC, now I have a Mac (not to familiar with Mac) I cannot find a ipsw anywhere on the Mac? I am trying to update to 3.0

I looked in the users\library\itunes and nothing! There is a folder called itunes plugins thats it.

I even downloaded a ipsw online and same thing it doesn't have a .ipsw? I used redsnow and it doesn't show anything in the folder it can open. Please help

Did it ever occur to you that he may have a PC and not a Mac? :)

@OP - By the way, if you need to download a specific IPSW that you do not have, download it from here:
    http://redonetech.comoj.com/ios/index.html

It's my website that has the links for the download from Apple's Server.
