    Hi all,
I notice that 8.1/8.1.1 is much faster on my G5 than 8.2+
Does anyone know where I can download an old version for OSX?

    I tried:
    http://mac.oldapps.com/itunes.php
But they give no reason why there are no available downloads anymore.

    Please help. Thank you!

    Oooooh!
    So close.
As soon as I clicked to download, 8.2 began.
    Thanks anyways! Any more ideas?

Don't know anything about torrents but a post on another forum suggests searching google for "iTunes 8.1 mac torrent".

    HTH.

Good suggestion, but searches thru 3 pages of google, and 4 different trackers turned up nothing.
    :(

The first link gave me a 404, but the second one worked!
    Woo-hoo! Thanks, ginigo!
You wouldn't have a link for 8.1.1 as well, would you? Not to push my good luck!:D

    THANKS AGAIN!

    Hey y'all,
After much heavy searching, I tracked down iTunes 8.1.1, which has a fix I've never heard mentioned, that 8.1 would display the last slide of art by default.
    8.1.1 ftw!

PS: if you wanna downgrade your iTunes, FIRST export your newer-version library as XML.
    File>Library>Export Library
Then, after you install the older version, open it while holding alt/option.
Create new library. It'll be blank.
command-J. Adjust your personal settings on the view options.
Then, file>library>import playlist and import the XML file.
You'll have to let it re-collect gapless info, soundcheck levels, and genius, but whatever. Set it to work while you sleep.

Optional: Run xslimmer or Trimmit to reduce the app footprint and bloat from ~130mb to ~30
