I was surprised Steve Jobs did not announce any new updates for the iMac & eMac lines. Didn't i read a whole bunch of rumors regarding a new iMac design? When are they going to improve eMac?

first the imacs just got that 20" upgrade not too long ago... and they want the emacs slower than imacs. Also i've noticed in the last keynotes, when apple just speedbumps a line, they don't have steve announce it , they have a silent update on a tuesday morning ... so keep that in mind

when steve talked about the great products due in their anniversary year, i was thinking about PowerBook G5 and iMac G5...he did say that the G5 was their roadmap for the future or whatever, and I hope they get it into as many Macs as possible this year. I don't see why the iMac can't run a G5 from 1.4-1.8 or 1.6-2.0 once the Power Mac reaches 3.0.

    I think you're right.

I would like to see something like this before the end of the year:

High-end PowerMac: Dual 2.8 or 3.0 G5 or something like that
    Med-end PMac: Dual 2.6 G5
    Low-end PMac: Dual 2.4 or 2.2 G5

    iMac 20": Single 2.4 or 2.2 G5
    iMac 17": Single 2.2 or 2.0 G5
    iMac 15": Single 2.0 or 1.8 G5

    PowerBook 17" = iMac 20"
    PBook 15" = iMac 17"
    PBook 12" = iMac 15"

    eMac/iBook G4s 1.2ghz+
