Try a search on the Western Digital My Book Pro. They come in 250 and 500Gb. They get good reviews. Don't have one but have just ordered the 500Gb from Komplett.co.uk - they do the 250Gb for £105.01.

I have a 160GB MyBook Drive and it works great, although its only the Firewire 400 version, as my MacBook doesn't support Firewire 800. They look great and are really pretty quiet too IMO.

EDIT: Forgot to mention I bought mine from dabs.

Try Overclockers for the Western Digital MyBook mentioned in the previous post. With postage factored in its a bit cheaper. Good luck.

Don't think so. The Overclockers price does not include VAT - the Komplett site does.

I got the 500Gb for £186.71 inc VAT and delivery. Overclockers comes to £205.62

I was talking about the 250GB one as the OP said "cheap". Komplett is £122.52 for 2-3 day delivery, £122.19 on Overclockers for next day delivery.

Not much of a difference in price, but they'd get it quicker. :)

But if you're interested in cheap, why pay over the odds to get it quicker? And certainly not £17.50 on a £105 drive. By Parcelforce you can get this from Komplett for £111.76 within the UK in 3-4 days.

(BTW I don't work for Komplett :))

- but fair enough, you pay your money, you take your choice.
