Which LCD display is for me?

So I've been waiting for the new Macs for some time now and have always had my mind set on a new Imac. Recently, however, I have thought more seriously about getting a powermac because of the expandability and dual processors. The Apple displays are great, but even with the price drops they are more than I want to spend. What would be another good brand of display that would not cost as much? Am I dreaming? There are so many different brands that I have no idea what to do.

I may still go with the Imac when I see the new ones (hopefully next week or sooner), but I want to be ready should I decide to go the powermac route.

They offer the only display line that matches Apple's quality & style.

I think Apple's price drops make an Apple display look like an excellent investment. I'd consider the Apple 17" if you are cost concious. If not, the Apple 20" seems like an astounding value for a display that I'm sure will be a joy to use for years.
