Which MacBook Air is going to perform better?

I'm looking to buy a used MacBook Air and I found two that stand out for me.

Screen size isn't that important to me, I'm more interested to know which one is better in terms of specs & if one model has any known problems or anything like that.

MacBook 1: 2010 11.6" 1.4GHz, 2GB RAM, 64GB HD

MacBook 2: 2008 13.3", 1.6GHz, 2GB RAM, 80GB HD

They're both the same price / condition. (mint)

The second option looks better to me on paper, but are there any obvious advantages of having a 2010 Air over a 2008 one?

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!

I'm currently using the MBA you listed as #2. Steer clear of this as it is really slow

The first is the redesigned model, it has an SSD and it has 2 USB ports unlike the 2008 Air that has hard drive, heat issues (or so I have heard), is slow and only has 1 USB port, seems like a no-brainer definitely get the 11" 2010 model, P.S. how much are you paying for it?

Are the first generation ones that bad then? Only having 1 USB port wouldn't bother me, but if they have overheating/performance issues issues I'll avoid those.

if you're prepared to go $600, personally I'd bite the bullet and buy new.
or at the very worst go #1.

forget #2 - screen hinges are probably well worn and loose by now, not to mention it'd be as slow as a wet week to do anything meaningful on apart from some word processing.

amazing how what was the duck's nuts a few years ago is now limp and unappealing.

The new one will kill the old one. Not only is the old one using a conventional hard drive rather than an SSD - it is also a 1.8" 4200 rpm hard drive.

i.e., it is very slow, even by hard drive standards.

The first choice. I've heard nothing but bad things about the 2008. So 100% go with the 2010 one.

I understand not everyone can buy new...and sometimes if you can get a good deal and its mint, it may be just as gone!

Thanks guys, I wasn't aware of the differences - I'll definitely go for a 2010 or newer one.
