I am trying to decide between these two Compact Flash cards to use in my Canon Digital Rebel XT:

The lower priced model is 80X speed, but the higher priced model is 45X. That's the only thing holding me off... why is the higher speed model priced lower and the lower speed model priced higher? Is this bad on NewEgg's part? Do you suggest I go with the 80X model? It seems logical to do so... also does anyone know the average file size of an 8-megapixel image?

    Thanks in advance! :)

    $4 difference?

I'd go with the 80x. Both from the same manufacturers, so there's really no big selection.

8 MP images will vary based on what's photographed right? If you shoot a blank wall at 8 MP using JPEG, it'll come out 100KB whereas if you shot a grassy knoll, it might come out to 2-3 or so MBs.

I think it's the same with compressed TIFF and RAW.

Okay, that's good. I just wanted to verify if it was wise to go with the 80X model. I wanted to make sure since the price is lower for some reason. Has anyone used Transcend Compact Flash memory? I'm using 1 GB of their RAM in my PowerBook and haven't had any problems with it.
