    Safari Bad Again

Here we go again. I have had problems over the years with Safari causing problems with my on-line banking. First it would not log-in to my BillPay page. Switched to Firefox. About a year later, my credit union sent a message that the new Safari update would work. Back to Safari. It worked most of the time. Now, with the latest version, I get BLANK pages. Not just my credit union, but other sites. Back to Firefox. Maybe for good this time.

Something's not right with your system. Safari takes about 1/2 as much memory as Firefox and performs 2x better. It's more elegant and renders pages super fast and very accurately. Firefox is much slower, and when you stick on some add-ons, it gets so much slower than it already is.

Nothing wrong with my systems because my daughter has the same problem. I say systems because I have a PowerBook G4 and a 20" iMac. All running 10.5.8. Problem started right after the last Safari update. Yes, Firefox is a little slower, but it lets me do my on-line banking. Safari does not.

I have used and continue to use Safari on all of my systems (2 Mac Minis, 15" MacBook Pro, 17" MacBook Pro, 13" MacBook, MacBook Air, PowerMac G5) and it runs perfectly fine for me as well as consumes much less resources than Firefox.

People who say they have problems with Safari and no fixes work baffle me, as I use it on 7+ systems issue free.

I still use Safari for everything else. I do on occasion get Blank screens on some sites. The last one on the GM Camaro site when I tried to look at the pictures page. No pictures. The major problem has always been logging in to the credit union web site. I can login but end up getting a blank screen. Sometimes just the header. Eventually, Apple will come out with another update that will cure the problem that I and who knows how many people that are members of the same credit union. It's a large on. Anheuser Busch Employees Credit Union. I have to use Firefox for my on-line banking. At least for now.

Hope to update to new computers this winter or first of next year.

I think they were being far too easy on IE for fear of being seen as "biased". No mention of Microsoft's historic aggressive aversion to (and efforts to supplant) worldwide standards of any kind, let alone on the web, and a very watered-down passing mention of its Swiss-cheese security model. I wouldn't forward this to anyone.
