not a very interesting thread but a thread none the less.

I have put a bit of effort into making mine the way it is.

Your sig does look carefully thought out and has an interesting look. A little peeve of mine are sigs that are too many lines, it just makes scrolling around take longer. So for me, the biggest sig is not the best.

I am also glad that people can't put graphics in their sig (although it would be cool for the folders to have a auto-update). On some forums, people will have a one line message followed by a 800 pixel image of jet fighters or scantily clad babes or attacking borgs. It gets really crazy.

I'm not sure about having all the equipment in the signatures, but everyone is free to choose. :) At least that one looks good. I think Doraemon has one that's almost endless and it's just plain, huge text.

I remember someone who had hexadecimal bytes of ASCII code saying "If you're reading this, you must be really bored." :D

i don't know how to do this w/o being a dick, so i'll just be a dick.

    cant should be: can't
    your should be: you
    loose should be: lose

sorry, i just think if it's good enough to be in a signature, it should be free of errors

the shorter the signature the better, in my opinion... i can't really think of anyone off the top of my head that goes overboard with their sig...

Re: who has the biggest/best signature

Yes, the bigger/better signatures and the one- and two-liner posts that people make.

Surely this isn't good balance between new ideas an old.

So I'm one for saying, "Bigger isn't always better."

at least I use a small font. some members have a lot of text is their sigs with just a standard size font.

my sig isn't that big is it? its not huge to my eyes.

I wasn't complaining about it. That other person's signature has something like 20+ lines.

    Way to go!

Did you just change it? It isn't a vertical list anymore. That was something I was going to suggest. I have to admit it looks a bit more cluttered that way. How about two columns?

I think "that is a big sig" when the sig is longer than the post. If it is 2-3 lines, it isn't noticeable with the short posts. If it is longer I get that effect.

You could PM them instead of telling them in public!
    :)

I forget who had it and exactly how it was worded, but a while ago I remember someone's signature saying, "The day that Microsoft releases a product that doesn't suck is the day they start selling vacuums."

    Nice signature. :)

But I wish we could have Flash signatures, we could use them once at Were Here (very good Flash forum) but because of security issues, the use of them was stopped.
If you want to see nice graphic signatures and avatars, go to some of the many design forums.
