A few day's ago I posted a reply in the Adobe Apple thread, I just wrote the choir of We are the champions" song by Queen.

An hour later my post was deleted!!!

I rewrote my post and asked "who was deleting my post?"

    Then it was deleted too.

I wrote to ARN to ask him about it and he hasn't answer.

Whata hell is going on here?

Are we getting anarchic with so many moderator and stuff?

It is Mac Rumors a place for what besides spend time with other people?

Does any of the moderator has a problem with me? then tell me but do not be such ***** acting like that.

I don't know what's up with that and I haven't heard anything - and nothing in the mod forum.

I haven't been around much lately, so you'll have to ask Arn, Rower or Eye.

    Re: Who is controling Macroomors???

sorry for no reply. Posts were deleted for being off topic.

    Please reread the rules

"1) Keep posts ontopic - Especially in the News/Rumors discussion. Off-topic posts in that area will likely get deleted without warning. Other forums are usually less strict, though a completely off-topic thread will likely get closed. Community discussion is pretty unregulated in this respect. Please direct idle chit-chat to that forum."

    OMG

Are not we taking this too far sometimes? with the bunch of silly things I read around just deleting off topic commnets we would loose half of the information in the site.

I'm with Arn, when we are discussing Adobe-Apple relations, I don't see the need to randomly post the lyrics to We are the Champions.

seriously. maybe if you had come up with some song whose lyrics had a bit more bearing on the topic it could have stayed. maybe even a creative parody or something...

(of course, if you had posted that upon news of the g5s, it might have been more fitting)

At least he wasn't asking for a date this time. ;)

But it's doubtful any attempt by him to sell himself for a US Visa, in the classifieds section, would be allowed to stay.

    haha! yeah.

seriously, what kind of an idiot posts random song lyrics? ok, not an idiot, you're cool, but what were you smoking, and why are you fired up about it?

it's not like there's any difference between having your posts deleted and just plain not read....

Trying to get yourself banned, eh? ;)

I was wondering how lyrics suddenly appeared and, just as suddenly, were swept away. It seemed as nightmarish as...

i had to actually request he delete my posts (and the other guy's) rather than wasteland the thread. i don't think he "tends to delete stuff." but even if he did, it's a good thing.

So why do some posts then deem a PM and others do not?

I've got PM'ed a couple times for saying stuff, but I have also not gotten PM'ed for stuff and then it was deleted.

    Where is the line?

i bet, if you say something that is blatantly stupid but not offensive, they don't waste their time chiding you, but if you say something very offensive, they warn you to get your act together.

That's up to each of us to decide.

For me an insult/flamebait type post warrants a PM warning, but an OT/spam post just gets deleted.

    Different strokes for different folks...
