Because they can? I'm sure it would be same for OS X and no the iPhone does not run a full version of OS X.

The article mentions the iPhone would have to be thicker, seems counter-intuitive to Apple's apparent strategy.

Unless it is an ATNN. We need a 50% bigger screen, double the battery or more, and a higher price point, so it is at least 1/3 the cost of a Mac+. :)

    Why pay less?

Like vista can run on a 2004 Laptop.
Does it even run on 2004 desktop?

Great so Apple now have the processor to built a super thin light tablet just like the iPod Touch but big screen and full OS. All they need now is a 7 or 10 inch screen at 200dpi or better.

    So still 6-12months.

What else would they use it for.
low spec Air? can't see it.
iPhone? still way way to big.
