    Why is it that:

    Illustrator CS2 -
    option+scroll = zoom
command+scroll = side to side scroll

    InDesign CS2 -
option+scroll = side to side scroll
    command+scroll = zoom

its just pure plain unadulterated BS they arent the same. It sucks going from one app to the next and zooming in instead of scrolling.

can you change them and I am just being whiny?

And one that always makes me have to stop and think is when trying to access the hand tool when using type in Illustrator and Photoshop.

In Photoshop the keyboard shortcut is Cmd first then Shift and Spacebar

In Illy it's Cmd first then spacebar then release the Cmd key.
