Seriously, I am all for Michigan but why put Desmond Howard on the cover? He is already retired from the NFL. I understand why it can be a current Michigan player but why not Brailin Edwards or Charles Woodson or someone more recent than 10 YEARS AGO!.

Look at NCAA 2005 had Fitzgerald.

it is kinda weird, I definitely would have picked Woodson first especially if they were picking someone from Michigan, even harder to understand was Fitzgerald...

Right now Tom Brady would be the best pick. Since EA has the rights to NFL and NCAA football I don't see why.

Well the title to the game is Race to the Heisman. Perhaps that is why.

Let's look at past Heisman winners shall we...

2004 - Matt Leinart [out because he is still in college]
2003 - Jason White [really now...]
2002 - Carson Palmer [already been on the cover]
    2001 - Eric Crouch [bust]
2000 - Chris Weinke [Chris who?]
    1999 - Ron Dayne [possibilty...]
    1998 - Ricky Williams [Oddball]
1997 - Charles Woodson [My choice...]

The only logical choice would be too have a past Heisman winner on the cover. I would have chosen Charles Woodson personally. But who cares about the cover of the videogame? I don't...

As much as it pains me to write this (considering where I am located), Howard had arguably the greatest year in college football history. But going back to '91 is a little bit of a stretch.

Still, every time he touched the ball that year he had a chance to go the distance whether it was returning a punt, kick, catching a pass on a slant route or hooking up with Grbac on a fade route. I still remember the diving 4th down grab against ND.

Not to mention he struck the Heisman pose after a TD and had every right in doing it.

I like the history angle of this cover. If one goes with the latest greatest thing, one runs the risk of taking a bath. Anyone here have a Buster Douglas Heavyweight Boxing game lying around?

Woodson had a great year but not Desmond Howard great...

Perhaps they figured that the EA cover jinx wouldn't have a chance to kick in if they went for someone whose career was over? And he might come cheaper

I watched both Howard and Woodson play at Michigan (season tickets :) ). I would have to say that Woodson had the better season because:
    1. Won a national championship
    2. He play defense, some offense, and kick/punt returns.
    3. On defense, he took away half the field.

Howard had some spectacular plays but he didn't contribute like Woodson did every play.

Remember that pick on Todd Schultz at Spartan Stadium back in '97?
