why is it hard to give somehing away for free?

    Why is it so hard for us in our soceity to give away something for free?

    when I give someone something, they say, don't you want something for your taxes? they hardly ever say thank you. I mean there is always something that happens to make them wonder why are you doing this?

    It is because we invest time, money, and efforts into what we produce/own. In order to sustain continued production of whatever it is, we need support, which is derived through remuneration for the product given. Even in order to continue supporting ourselves and our families, that payment is necessary.

    We could not contribute to the rest of society unless we traded our goods and services for others'. That is the entire basis of society.

    Go to this thread and read post #4. THAT is why it's hard to give something away for free: because some #$%& has to come along and ruin it for everyone.
