Why is my 12" pb 1.5 battery on ALL THE TIME?

I'm not used to this. (i meant my FAN is running all the time!) None of my iBooks or old Tibooks had this issue -- especially should have had this issue with the Ti's but I didn't because I put them on a Macally ice pad stand that has air flow channels.

Well, this 12" runs hot. I know that this is not good for any machine. Where is the intake? Where is the fan blowing? I am not happy because the more the fan goes, the faster this new little thing ages the hard drive and CPU.

Any suggestions on how to keep it cooler? Are your 12" PB fans running constantly?

Your battery is on all the time to keep the computer running .

The intake is in the middle behind the hinge.

Your fan will run all the time if you've got an external monitor plugged in.

If you haven't got an external monitor you've got a problem - take it in for a checkup.

My fan is running about 10minutes in the hour and that's high summer in Australia. Although I'm not doing anything particulary intensive - just word processing and surfing. It'll especially kick up with video intensive stuff like games.

Hmmm -- yeah -- well I do have to say I've been keeping the place warmer than usual with the heat on -- been under the weather. The temp in the house could actually be the problem. I'll turn it off and see what transpires.

thanks for makin' me think it through. If the fan kicks up after this -- will take it in.

No probs California. I notice the fan on my 12" a lot more than I used to on my Ti. Maybe the smaller case just reverberates a bit more...... But mines no where near as hot as my Ti550. That thing was physically too hot to have on my bare skin.

    Good luck :).
