I am sat here infront of both my iBook G4 and my intel iMac

They are both connected to my wireless router (which is downstairs)

My iBook has full bar and is connected fine.
so is my iMac, but every minute or so the iMac disconnects from the network, then reconnects.

it's driving me nuts, it's crashing my downloads, sending growl notifications every 30 seconds and generally being a pain in the arse.
but the iBook isn't...they're sat less than a foot from each other.

    any advice?

Maybe the iBook is interfering with the iMacs wifi signal? Have you tried moving the iBook away and seeing what happens?

Also have you tried a different wireless channel?

I've tried turning off the iBook and it makes no difference.

Changing the channel depends on the router, and I can't remember which channels you're supposed to use (perhaps someone else around here can help with that)

Normally you'll find the option in the routers wifi setup page.

I find 11 works best with airports. 7 is also pretty good, but not great.
