    Why do some people say:

"Yeah, it whiped out my Safari."

    OR

"My iPhoto is not working anymore."

I never say my OS X had a kernel panic, or my PTMac isn't responding anymore...

Is this just another ons of my odd eccentricities, or do other fins the use of "my" with software odd?

It's no worse than saying "we won the game last night" or "we really showed them" when it was a team or a single member of a group.

I don't find it odd, but simply useless.

Try living with an English Professor and all those type of questions will be answered even without asking ;) :p Except why I still have a fashion show on level one :p
So "my" or to answer the question would be...just one more  I never attach the word my to something unless it's something such as my parents are coming over for dinner tonight. I'm not sure if people don't care how to speak anymore or are just lazzy because this is a forum and not an english class. It sure looks that way in the writing that I've had to read within the last 4-5 years and it's getting worse.
The last professor I had for Art History 315 said it best...learn to read and write very well since most of the people that hold high positions know how to do this, that's why they are sitting reading your résumé, to see if your an educated derelict or will you really shine in that field.

Well it's just like saying...'my web browser crashed' or 'my operating system crashed.

    Doesn't sound funny for me.

Apple really tries to make its products have personalities, especially the iPod.

If you look through an iPod manual, I never remember ever seeing "the" in front of "iPod." Just "Plug iPod into power source," etc.

Apparently, this concept of making Apple's products seem more like people is working on a lot of us. I know I do it without thinking of it.
