    Anyone else?

And no, I'm not overweight (infact, I'm way underweight). I played about 45 minutes of boxing; really getting into it. I started sweating really bad.

I did manage to win every match I played though, sometimes KO-ing my opponents on the first knock down.

EDIT: Now I just need to wait for giftmas for my own Wii. In the mean time I'll be playing my girlfriends step-brothers Wii. :)

It's just a physical activity you weren't use to. I've known marathon runners who get quickly winded on stairmasters, simply because the motion isn't what they're use to. The idea of an overall "fitness" or "skill" instead of a specific one is all but gone.

I haven't been able to figure out what determines if an opponent rises or not. Is it random? How do you KO the opponent on the first knock-down?

So is the gamer stereotype now going to be pasty white with strong arms?

I vowed a number of years ago never to buy another console, but the more I hear about Wii the better it sounds.

I'm not quite sure. I noticed that I KO-ed on the first knockdown if I got some really good combos or just completely pummled the opponent. Sometimes I'd get 5-6 really hard consecutive hits on them (the kind where the game goes into a slow motion type thing).

It's a pity that what is shown on screen is so out of sync with what you're doing that it makes the whole boxing game kinda useless.

Not true at all! The Wii remote is ambidextrous.

I noticed one time when I pulled my arm way back before punching, that I did some kind of super punch that knocked my opponent to the floor. I haven't been able to do it since. Anyone know how?

anyone know how to beat the boxing? i was winning every match until i got to the character that does all your training. (this is pro level at like 1500 points) he has white gloves on, everyone else had red gloves. and i cant beat the guy. i did finally break a sweat playing him b/c i started trying harder. but maybe thats the problem, the controls are sensitive and a little goes a long way, so maybe i am over powering the controls and they are not responding well. oh well, any hints on how to beat this guy?

I had a similar case. I swore that I would never buy a Nintendo console after I bought my GC and it was a piece of **** that I ended up giving away. But I actually waited in line for 29 hours to get the Wii on launch anyway. And if boxing on Wii Sports makes you sweat then you need to start exercising a little. I don't sweat when playing it and I'm not exactly in good shape.

You probably just don't get into it like we do.
Or your house is kept extremely cold.

Well my house definetly isn't cold. My crackhead mom is always cold so the heater is always on and because of that my house is usually never under 80° F. But I guess I'm used to fighting and stuff maybe thats it.
