    But I want it Nooowwww . . .

And I got a date tomorrow, so I'll be out all day and not be able to tinker with it.

    I am sad now. :(

Hmm, going out with member of preferred gender vs. staying in all night playing with a web browser on a game console.

    Hmmmm.....

It's probably not out yet. The Weather Channel didn't come on at midnight, it was sometime in the morning. Opera will probably be the same. There's still 13 hours or so (depending on the time zone they use) where they can put it out "today."

    Patience . . . .

What can I say? I am a true geek.

Besides, it's the first date with a girl I don't know too well, so who knows. However, I am starting to warm up to the latter.

Now if only my Wii could come with me to the zoo and restraunt . . .

got it downloaded this morning - only had a quick go on it before leaving the house, but I was a bit underwhelmed... what happened to being able to resize it so everything is clearly visable? You need to be sitting very close to (and squint a little) at the MR page to read the text.... here's hoping I just missed a zoom feature...

Still, as free browsers go its a nice addition, and simple to use...

doh.. when i posted prev message i hadn't gone downstairs yet (where my wii is).. saw the blue light flashing and voila.. was up and running on the opera browser within a few minutes.

can't comment much, but from what I can see, the fonts etc.. are very hard to read..

is that cos its hooked up to my tv?

its a similar in natuer to when i hook my laptop to my tv and attempt to web browse - not a good experience :)

i just have a regular 32" CRT.. no HD digital stuff yet.. but will that actually make a difference?

    thanks

    This is awesome! :D
Flash runs better than I thought it would [Being PPC and all]

Simple, clean, but still a bit buggy. I like it.

Oh, and FTW, you use the [+] and [-] to zoom in/out.

Now I really need those component cables.

Anyone feel sick when 'zooming in'? I did big time. I personally wouldn't use Opera on the Wii unless my mac went down.

    Sweet. Motion sickness!
Guess that'll be another lawsuit that may well be slapped on Nintendo by our American cousins...:p :D

I had a mess around with this briefly about 1am this morning.

Rendering and page layout seems great, largely because Nintendo went with an established browser vendor rather than trying to roll their own. Zoom's handy, but I'm not quite sold on moving around the page by 'grabbing' with the B button. I'll give it a go again today and see if it was just tiredness that was making me cranky with it!

    [edit]

Oh, and call me a nerd ("nerd!") but I'm going to a bit of packet sniffing (fnarr!) later to see if the Wii's browser is connecting directly to the sites we visit, or if it's going via a Nintendo-run proxy. I'm 99% sure it's direct, but I like knowing what these 'black-box' style systems are doing :)

Hey, Flash runs great on a ppc. I've been developing on it for both platforms since 98. :)

This is fun using the Wii to compose a message.us :)

After seeing the pics on engadget with the Internet Channel running on a Sammy LCD - and looking thoroughly usable - I'm looking forward to there being a release of some decent Wii "lounge" keyboards being released - laptop sized keyboard with all of the Wiimote keys on the side...

As there are recharging stations for the Wiimotes already coming out, hopefully some manufactures will be all over this...

    Surprisingly usable so far.

Anyone know if there is a way to hide the buttons bar? Takes up precious real estate, especialy with webpage being usually designed in a vertical fashion.

Edit: Here is a list of Wii-friendly flash games: http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/games/wii/ (Duck hunt included ^_^)

I saw the wii glowing this morning, and started the download before I left for work, but didn't have enough time to sit and wait for it. It will be waiting for me when I get home, though. Please, do continue to post your impressions. I'm anxious to hear them.
