The Wikipedia system was designed in such a way that it's supposed to be possible to reference any Wikipedia article via a shortcut notation. Here's an example:

    http://wikipedia.org/Apple_Computer

is supposed to be a shortcut to

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Computer

However, the shortcut doesn't work correctly - it generates an infinite redirect. What happens is this:

    http://wikipedia.org/Apple_Computer
    becomes
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wikihttp://wikipedia.org/Apple_Computer
    which then becomes
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wikihttp://en.wikipedia.org/wikihttp://wikipedia.org/Apple_Computer
    which then becomes
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wikihttp://...a.org/wikihttp://wikipedia.org/Apple_Computer
    Do you see what's happening?

I can't find any resources on how linking to Wikipedia articles should be done, but www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Article_Name works. But then you could just as well do it like en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Article_Name.

On another note: Why is wikipedia so damn slow most of the time?

Traffic, I imagine. I went to look up something there yesterday and it took forever. But it could be the craptastic computer I'm using at work...
