Wikipedia shortcut is a longcut

    The Wikipedia system was designed in such a way that it's supposed to be possible to reference any Wikipedia article via a shortcut notation. Here's an example:

    is supposed to be a shortcut to

    However, the shortcut doesn't work correctly - it generates an infinite redirect. What happens is this:
    which then becomes
    which then becomes
    Do you see what's happening?

    I can't find any resources on how linking to Wikipedia articles should be done, but works. But then you could just as well do it like

    On another note: Why is wikipedia so damn slow most of the time?
