So i just bought a new mac and i wanted to transfer all my itunes library from my windows xp to my new mac . I tried to follow the directions but im not smart when it comes to computers so that way didnt work . Then i tried burning everything to a blank dvd but that didnt work . So i did the transer ipod songs from your ipod to your mac . And that was easy and it worked . But it didnt transfer my photos or apps . What should i do ? Hold on i just heard about the new home sharing feature . Will that be my solution ?

It will be slow, but yes. That is your solution!

Yes. That would be your best bet. However, keep in mind it doesn't take over your play counts or ratings.

Additionally, depending on the size of your library it would be much faster to transfer via wired Ethernet compared to wireless.

Instead of using WIFI, just plug both computers directly into the router using the ethernet ports

Your PC might need to be configured for ethernet, I don't know..

But other than that, simply just plug them into ethernet, and use homesharing like normal.

Think Model T compared to a modern Porsche.

Unless your PC has wireless 'n' or only 10mb/s ethernet, wired will be much faster.

So, apparently I was wrong. It does copy over ratings. Not sure about play count.

Doesn't copy over the playlists either. The music in the playlists yes, but not the actual playlists.

That's like comparing a model train set to the shinkanshen.
