I'm new to the forum, and I'm not the biggest computer guy. I've been wanting to play Portal, starting with the first one. So, the title is pretty self explanatory. Can I play Portal 1? I'm pretty confident that my Macbook is baseline and is a late 2011 model. Thanks! :)

    Specs (if needed):

Processor: 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5
    Memory: 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB
    Software: Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63)

Yes, easily. Portal 2 should be fine on medium settings as well.

Not a surprise, the 9400 is a very old card.

I used to run Portal 1 on my 2008 MBA. It wasn't swift or as smooth as current models but it did work and was quite enjoyable.

On my 2011 MBA I run Portal 1 and Portal 2 at full high settings and I have not seen any lag or issues with the game (other than the battery almost runs flat while you watch!!!!)

If you are not after full HD res graphics and a I'm-actually-in-the-game experience then you can run a lot more than most people give these laptops credit for.
