That use the dock connector and mount like a traditional desktop cam would?
No one here works high up enough in apple to answer the question, even if they did they couldn't answer.
From a theoretical standpoint I would say no we won't.
I meant 3rd party
I was thinking the same thing. They must be planning something to add a camera function especially with HP announcing their tablet with 2 cameras.
I was wondering this myself. I don't have a real need for it but I was thinking someone may come up with a way to hook in a webcam through the connector.
This makes more sense than building it in, because most people wont use a built in camera anyways
Its certainly possible via iPhone 3.0's Accessory capabilities. The only questions is will somebody make one. I think somebody will. I think there are a lot of people who would buy it.
Do you think whoever makes one first, they'll make alot off of it?
I believe there are licensing $$$$ issues if you develop an accessory that takes advantage of the dock connector and an app. It's probably why you don't see many devices yet. You would think someone would've made a bluetooth game controller or more accessories that take advantage of the dock connection
Personally, I'm waiting for the 2nd gen. iPad with camera, 512MB RAM and standalone Apple Dictionary app.
Due out in October!!
Yes they will their is a app that let use your iPhone with your ipad
I'd say yes... at some point, this will happen... unless Apple decides to lay the smack down on 3rd party developers for making accessories that use the 30-pin connection.
How do you know October? Im curious to know...
good question. i dont think we will see it until next year.
nice thought but unlikely. iphone os devices have been and likely will stay on a 12 month cycle.
so only the ipod touch is likely to do anything in October (if not last Sept).
i would totally go for that.
Me too !!!
all it needs to do its pivot somewhat and it would be perfect !
That probably won't work, because the mic is on top of the iPad.
>implying that the mic isn't strong enough to pick up your voice even if its turned 180 degrees down
This is the exact same idea I had, except that on the bottom of the camera there would be another 30 pin connector port so you could still charge and/or sync
