Anyone chime in yet on any predicted value of x.4 and seriously improved graphic drivers/system performance?

From what I understand, Apple will be tuning the OpenGL engine later in the game, with point updates. We can look forward to the 2.0 library, although I'm not sure which version Tiger uses. This coincides with Apple hiring people to help them with graphics optimization...

I still expect a 5-10 fps increase in most games...

I suppose the new grfx card drivers are key factor here.

My framerates in the timedemo leaped from 32.7 (10.3.8) to 39.2 (8A428) (1600 x 1200, High Quality, Shadows on)
I assume better drivers for my nVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra in Tiger helped enormously.
If you already have good drivers (ATi's cards) you'll probably notice hardly any difference.

    Just my € 0.02

Perhaps true.. i use nvidia 6800 inside my dual 2ghz G5 and i run at 1280x1024 in HIGH detail and shadows on i get 43fps and shadows off 52fps. (Before it was 38 and 46). I'd love to know of a command that can leave monster shadows on but turn off the rest. Monster shadows are great but shining your torch and seeing bars or boxes casting a shadow is kinda pointless for me (unless i had a faster mac or faster opengl drivers) ;)

I'm happy tho, my performance in games is now much better than panther. Doom3 usually maintains 60fps and well over 40 in fight scenes. Nice
