I have just switched recently after 19 yrs as a PC gamer, so i am new to hardware requirements on the Mac platform for gaming. I have a eMac, 1Ghz, 128MB Ram, i know that i need more ram, but would this be the only reason that Wolfenstein stutters at 640 by 480. Is 1Ghz enough to play RTCW, and others similar if i add more Ram? What resolution should i expect from games like Wolfenstein and Jedi Knight II, with 1Ghz and 640MB Ram?

you said it, your os really needs that 128, 256 would be good but 512 would be better i have played many an hour of good old RTCW on a 733 G4 powermac. do yourself a favor. Buy more ram and as much as you can afford. everything will be faster and i would say you should be able to play jedi & rtcw at 800 x 600 with things turned up and it should look pretty nice. Iam surprised you could even turn on the game with only 128. Return to castle wolfenstein is a awesome game. enjoy that emac.
