Sorry, I'm just excited because I ordered another 1GB stick (Crucial) off of Newegg, which officially tops me off at the 2GB limit for the PBG4. My computer was hiccuping last night after being on for about 3 and a half weeks straight and I checked my stats and it only had 13MB of free RAM . So, I determined that it would be the time to upgrade the RAM!

    HORRAY for me! :D

Good for you, I'm sure you'll be happy.

BTW the indication in the OS of free RAM means little or nothing about whether lack of RAM is causing your problems, you also have to look at Inactive RAM. Since OS X manages memory much more accurately (this ain't OS 9 anymore, Toto) the conventional wisdom about having free memory in the OS is no longer valid.

The thing to look for is Page Outs. If you have been running the machine for a while and there are relatively few Page Outs, then you're OK. If your Page Outs and Page Ins are anywhere near a 1:1 ratio, then you need more RAM.

You're insight is always so great, Canada. How would one check Page In and Out logs? Another reason I upgraded was because I was having some slow downs with Photoshop and other alike programs.
