This may be a stupid question, but I honestly don't know. Are Workshops at the apple store free? Also do you bring your own Mac or do you just watch? I've been thinking about going to one down at the new 5th avenue apple store just for the fun of it and I've always wanted to learn how to use Garageband properly.

Yes, they are free. You can just watch, or you can bring your own laptop to play around as you follow along. It does somewhat depend on the store set-up though. If you're at one of the larger stores with a theater, it's very convenient to sit there and follow along with your machine. It's more difficult in smaller stores without theaters.

As soon as I get my mac I'm going to one of these for garageband too. My apple store is kinda small though. :p
