I am planing on buy a MB 2.0ghz w/1gb ram, then upgrade ram to 2gb. I was wondering if that would be enough for muisc/movies/pictures/and some games. Such games as Halo/Counter Srike, mainly counter strike. I am a little worring that the graphic card won't hold up....THX FOR YOUR HELP

If you check out the games forum on here, you can look around and see what people have tried on the MB and how they have done.

Half-Life 2 and Counterstrike: Source should be bearable on the GMA950. Then again the Source engine seems to run on ANYTHING. The original CS is a joke,

The Macbook should play 1.6 with no trouble at all. I haven't played CS:S on it myself but it should be playable.

Should be doable. I'm not a gamer at all and know nothing about games, but I've seen my friend play CS on a 12" Dell with a 1.6 GHz Centrino with an integrated graphics chip, and it looked good. His integrated graphics chip is worse than the one in the MacBook. :)

Yes, a 2GHz MacBook with 2GB of RAM should be okay for you. It wont run games at the maximum settings real well, but it should play them for you.

If you feel that you will be spending a good amount of your time I would advise that you consider going with a MacBook Pro and it's ATI Radeon X1600 graphics system. :)

Just thinking... (trying to sound smart talking about stuff I shouldn't be talking about, so correct me if I'm wrong)

If you plan on buying the MB with 1GB RAM from Apple they will put in 2 X 512 sticks. When you decide to upgrade to 2GB, you will have to purchase 2 X 1GB sticks. Wouldn't it make more sence to buy the MB stock with 512MB RAM and then buy a 3rd party 1GB stick? Then when you're ready to put in that second GB of RAM you will only have to buy 1 GB instead of 2.

I would think that the graphics system in the MacBook when coupled with the Core Duo processor would provide a better gaming experience than that provided by your PeeCee. :)
