Reduced from £25 to £10 in HMV, fully sealed copy with "outer" fold out packaging. Cheap eh?

Bought a copy for a friend who has been intrested for a while but was a bit cash poor.

I thought it was legal and free to download WoW, you just need to buy a subscription?

WoW is a great game that gave me countless hours of fun and its very worth what i payed. Even if you play for 2 weeks or even for 10 days its worth it.

£10 is damned cheap, considering you get everything.

Did a double look as i walked past in the Northampton store, thought i was seeing things!

Is that £10 a special price or a new regular price? I ask because the game recently-ish dropped to $35 (£12) here, so the UK version may be following suit.

Isn't the subscription the biggest cost for WoW ?

    oh yes!

Although if you buy in 6 months chunks it works out quite cheap.

    Not that generous!

Bought it for him so that he can pay me the £10 back.

And if he dosn't want it (always broke) my partner's brother will.

I got WoW a little over a month ago i think. It cost me $29.99 (because it was mislabeled at Gamestop). It really should've been $39.99. i'm just waiting to see how much the expansion will cost. although its probably been said by now XD

Blizzard have just released a trial version that you can buy in the shops for a couple of pounds: link.
It includes the game client and a 10-day trial.

Why might this be on interest to existing players? Well, the pack includes a DVD - not the usual 5 CDs. That's worth buying just to get the DVD if you ever need to reinstall. I remember installing the first time from the non-collectors edition: took forever, and I had to sit watching it to keep swapping the disks.

You could also download the game from Blizzard's site and make your own DVD.
