Finally decided to install the update from last week...

My boot up time went from 32 seconds to 46 seconds. 14 loss because of phone wireless cards? Great. I suppose I'm stuck like this. Is there anyway to roll back an update?

I don't even use broadband wireless cards for my cellphone. Thanks Apple.

(oh, and before anyone asks, no, I did not install anything but the update)

I did check the activity monitor, and it doesn't appear that anything new is running in the background. It boots up to the desktop, and it takes a good 10 seconds before the dock even shows up, and an addition 4-5 seconds before Spotlight date, time, wireless icons show up. This never did this before. They always appeared right after it booted to desktop with no delay.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Repair Permissions in Disc Utility and update to Mac OS 10.4.9 (when released). Repair permissions after Mac OS 10.4.9 too.

Have you only booted up once since the update? Updates take time to take affect upon a restart.

Teah, have rebooted at least 10-11 times to time it and make sure it was consistent. 46 seconds each time. Strange thing is, the hold up is it loading up the Macintosh HD icon and the system utilities in the top right of the screen. Wonder why a WWAN update would affect that. *shrug*

This did not fix or speed up the boot up. Thanks though.
