Apparently they are popping up all across the nation. They are supposedly shipping out from Washington and require a MS sales rep to set up... so it may take a few days for your store to get set up.....

I just went to walmart.com, and it appear that they did in fact have a small "launch quantity" which they promptly sold. Those DIRTY RATS at Micro$uck.

They did that just to rouse us from our dinner tables so that we'd suddenly, still belching, start calling around and trying to figure out who has one and how to buy/steal it from him. My first thoughts before finding out that the launch quantity was sold was, how can I raise the $$$ RIGHT THIS INSTANT and get one of those frigging things. OH well...
    Just being honest.

I don't care how badly I'm waiting for my Xbox 360... there's no chance in hell that I'll set foot in a Wal-Mart <spits again>.

    PREACH IT! Death to Walmart!

On a side note, I dunno if I'm gonna get one. I mean... 400 bucks?! JUST to play my old games on it is a hundred dollar upgrade from the REASONABLE price of 300? Eck..

If more people would swear never to go into Walmart, then I wouldn't have to wait in those insane check out lines. Seriously, 40 lanes, 2 cashiers.

Anyway, I'm headed to a Walmart in Lexington right now to buy Batman Begins. I'll post about the 360 when I get back.

The Wal-Mart by me had a playable Xbox 360, I tested out COD 2, the graphics are very crisp like in the videos. They also had Kameo and King Kong for Demo, I watched the NBA 2K6 movie but it didn't knock my socks off like I was hoping it would

The XBox 360 at my local Wal-Mart had a playable XBox 360 as well.

It had Kameo, King Kong, and COD 2.

I am going to be attacked by fanboys when I say this, but...

    It crashed.

Yeah. The XBox 360 froze on me. Every time I try to play COD 2. And the sales rep said that it's been doing that all day. Thus, I could not play COD 2 because it freezing every time.

King Kong demanded me to connect to the internet, so I couldn't play it either.

Thus, Kameo was the only playable demo, and since it was originally a GameCube game it has the worst graphics of any XBox 360 game. Thus, I was disappointed.

Oh, and the fact that the screen is almost directly overhead forcing me to break my neck looking up didn't help.

No 360 at the big one in Lexington :(

The guy working there didn't know if they were getting one. When I mentioned it, he said "yeah, that doesn't come out until November." Guess he didn't see the memo...

What are your thoughts on the controller of the Xbox 360, GFLPraxis?

Is it as comfortable as I hear?

It feels like a Wavebird. Although it was hard to get a good grip, being that it was bolted in place in the display, way too low for my arms, and the screen was almost directly overhead, meaning I had to slump over to reach the controller while looking straight up. But the controller felt comfortable, and easier than the XBox controller (with a bazillion little buttons everywhere). It felt like an XBox Wavebird. If I coulda held it better it may have even been better than the Wavebird, but thats tough to judge.

My only complaints are that its very easy to smack the big XBox button when you try to hit select or back, and the buttons all feel the same (not a big issue however as there are only four face buttons instead of six).

    Very comfortable controller.

Oh, one other complaint, its not the controller; the naming system. There's L, R, LT, and RT. It might just be me but I prefer each button to have its own letter or symbol (the L1/L2 R1/R2 always confuses me on the PS2; the XBox and GameCube had no such problems).
