    Hey Ladies and Gents,

Just looking for everyone's two-cents on the X360 season going through the new year. Seems like PS3 and Wii have all the chatter right now, with the newness factor undoubtedly. What about the Xbox these days? It seems like Gears of War is the end-all be-all for us 360'ers... I guess I'm reasonably excited for Forza 2, but not half as excited as I was for Gran Turismo 4 (as it happens, I bought a slimline PS2 impulsively just to play it). So what are you other gamers excited for on 360? Im kinda shooter'ed out these days, but I will still be up for giving GOW a go. I remember reading about some game called Elveon, that was supposed to be like a combat-oriented Oblivion... but I haven't a clue when thats coming.

    Anything slip through my radar?

    Eric

Dude are you serious? Star Trek? DOAX2? Wrestling? 360 is bringin the big guns out I guess

All the first games you listed are basically shooters (except PSU, and PSO sucked the big one) and all of them have limited single player mode but are all hyped for multiplayer. So unless you love XBL then those games won't keep you busy until next september :p

I hope games like Mass effect, Bioshock, Alan Wake, and even halo 3 are really good because my interest in the 360 hit rock bottom (although now GoW is coming out on tuesday so :D) MS had a year to pump out a few magic games, games that would sell a system, game that would make people go "Sony/Nintendo who?!" But they haven't. Obilvion is on PC and now PS3. GRAW was great but is on multi systems, Dead Rising was great!...for a few weeks. Hopefully GoW will start a nice trend and get the 360 chuggin along again.

If I wanted to play by myself I would get some porn - when I get a game and it doesn't have live or multiplayer capabilities it beeter be really damn good gamewhich is why I am looking forward to mass effect bioware has yet to fail me.

I thought the gameplay in was great and my only gripe was that it was just so short. And when you get the 'mirabelle' you really don't need anything else in jade anyway. I would like to see them expand that universe though; maybe bring in some new characters go to different parts of the empire that they mentioend but I would still like to see bioware do a KOTOR3 before htey do another jadempire

This is what I mean. A lot of the upcoming games all seem to be based on similar gameplay types. People say the XBOX has always supported racing and shooters, but for me right now, it seems like even racing has taken a back seat. Also, xbox live is alright, but I tend to buy my games based on their single player element first, then XBL is a bonus. I've also found that with the prices being so high, I really have to pick the titles that I want, because unless you have the time to really scout out prices, you're not getting much for under 50 bucks. Nobody out there seems to have heard of that Elveon game I guess? Im the type of gamer that likes to have a bunch of different types of games on the go at once, I don't really play a game from start to finish linearly. Unfortunately, it seems like I'm going to have to go to Nintendo in order to satisfy my multi-title desires. Smash Bros. Mario and the likes are all games that can't be beat!

Star Trek Legacy is being done by Bethesda. Same developer of Oblivion. It's a RTS for X360 and PC. The preview have all been very positive. They said that is the game that trekkies have been waiting for.

Smackdown has been a big franchise on PS2/GC. So it's great that the X360 owner finally gets to play it.

I played over 500hours of PSO on Xbox. It's the most addictive game ever. I guess you never really liked it but It has a really big fanbase.

It seems that you have made your mind already about X360 not having any title. It's true that is lots of shooter but you knew that you were going to see that before you bought your X360. Have you played Enchant Arm ? It's a great JRPG. There is plenty of stuff to play right now.

I didn't want to start a new thread for this, but does anybody else think its odd that Gears Of War is supposed to be the biggest 360 game yet and we havn't even seen a review yet?

I got my XBOX360 in August, and I'm still playing (and addicted to) my very first game, which is Oblivion.

I was so disappointed in PSO, just like I was with FFXI, I wanted a sequel to Phantasy Star 4, not a MMORPG. Trekkies may be stoked but RTS's on consoles aren't normally that great (although the LOTR one wasn't half bad) And Enchant Arm just didn't turn my crank but anyways!

I just dont see any of those games as ''wow! I have to get a 360!", they aren't killer games. 360 needed its own Zelda this year, one of those games that people would be willing to shell out 400 bucks for and since it is gonna have some mega competition it would have been great to see a few amazing, exclusive games (not just ports with shiny graphics) with it. Maybe it's unavoidable after the hype dies down? PS3/Wii are probably gonna suffer the lag by next year too once all the launch hype dies down.

If you want Zelda, Buy a Wii. Microsoft is delivering what most X360 user wants. If you read the Xbox forums like teamxbox you will see that november is called "Going to be broke month" so there is actually a very active xmas season for a company that doesn't launch any new hardware.

I dunno guys, but I for one think that porting games to all systems has kinda degraded the quality of the gameplay. Seeing as how developers have to spend all kinds of time coding for multiple platforms instead of fine-tuning the experience. I know that some people will disagree with me, but it seems like the generally "must-have" console games come out as exclusives. Halo for XBOX. Gran Turismo for PS2 (and formerly, the GTA games), Mario/Zelda for Nintendo. I've just found that so far, the 360 hasn't had many of those types... sure halo 3 is coming, that will be awesome im sure, and gears has a lot of hype behind it, but as a 360 owner, I can't help but be disappointed in the lack of such games over the last year. That's not to say there haven't been good games, just few that sell the console. Even the PS3 though, they don't have any solid launch sellers in my opinion either!

In response to the poster above, the reason we havent seen any reviews of GOW is for the same reason Apple doesn't disclose pre-info. They are likely keeping things under wraps to keep the surprise factor as part of the hype. Hopefully its legitimate. I've always liked the Unreal Tournament series, so hopefully it rubs off on gears. Right now, I think project gotham racing 3 is one of the games I've enjoyed the most on 360!

GoW will overload the pwnage levels around the 360 area and it'll be too much to handle for everyone. The pwnage will be too much . . . too much I tell ya!

Seriously, GoW will be the biggest game or biggest ANYTHING released this year . . . and yes, even bigger than the P$3 and Wiiii!!!!!! consoles. The Wii might be the hottest kids toy for Christmas though . . .

Just 2 more days and you'll see.
