On my PC at work I use Autocad a lot and have my buttons remapped to suit my cad needs. Yesterday the HD died and I needed to reinstall the machine. I also had to reinstall crappy intellipoint to map my buttons again and after some fumbling around return to work. I had accidently mapped a mouse button to something called "Instant Viewer" in intellipoint, and low and behold its some sort of primitive expose'.

Has this been always been around?

I never noticed it, are you sure it isn't a 3rd party thing?

Hah, interesting. I've never heard of it.

Looks recent, though (Intellipoint 5.5)...see here.

Intellipoint is 3rd party software (in the sense that it is not part of the Windows OS).

Also, MS has not publicized some of the cooler add-ons for Windows XP. For example, they have had a PowerToy that allows multiple desktops for quite some time. It's called Virtual Desktop Manager.
