The creative department of yahoo has to win an award for their special site design.

Take a look. I'm sure it'll be gone tomorrow and it, more than any hyperbolic words and grand declarations sums up the way people should feel on a day when EVERYONE in the world, be we americans or arabs, showed how little we really have evolved.

That is special. That makes a lot of sense really. Today, is a grey day. One that we all remember. Maybe we can come together more than ever before.

And I think that by "we" we all mean "we" as in the human race. as in dogs and cats, republicans and democrats, capitalists and communists, afghanis and americas.

Because, regardless of which god we love, what religion we believe is right, what height we are, the color of our skin, the color of our hair, our sexuality or our financial status, the over-riding thing is that we're all inhabitants of, when you really break it down, is a very small speck. A piece of dust. And there's a number of people here that most can't fathom.

All sitting, walking, running, thinking, taking pictures, using macs even, on a tiny speck of dust. We should realize that there's room for everyone and everything.

Be they Muslims or Catholics. Blacks or whites. Men or women or gays or lesbians.

If we can learn one thing from 9-11, I beg and implore a higher power that what we learn is tolerance, patience, compassion and kindness.

We learn that war isn't the answer, but rather education and understanding.

We as a society need to respect this piece of dust, and its inhabitants.

It's 2002 and we're doing a horrid job. Let's learn from our mistakes and our tragedies, be they self-inflicted or otherwise

As eye might hear me say: peas!

That is a very nice touch. Are any other sites doing anything like that?

Google's got a ribbon and a date, cnn is all red, white and blue, apple's got nada (disappointing), microsoft.com has nothing, but msn.com does, hp's got a link, altavista's got a link and ribbon- that's just a fast look.

But by far, yahoo's got the best redesign, I hope it doesn't go unnoticed.

The Yahoo thing is great, I made a web archive of it. Keep up the posting of sites, it is interesting.

Maybe we should say: anyone who sees one of these sites, they should do a screenshot and maybe we could set up some page somewhere with a retrospective
