For the price I think you got a good deal. It's the same machine I got as my first Mac, though I paid 3k+ for a new one. Once you max out the RAM to 1.5gigs and get a bigger drive for it and load it with Tiger you should be good to go.

Mine still works pretty well. However I do all my work on my 2.5gig G5 now.
