I used old versions of sorenson squeeze, I'm talking when sorenson 3 was the best kid on the block, and they were alright, but compared to Compressor with Final Cut Studio there really is no reason. Hell, Squeeze is nearly half the price of FCS. Quicktime Pro is also good to convert almost all footage with no problems, and with a compression engine optimized to run on the Mac OS, the speed is better too. Squeeze seems like a waste of funds to me. If I had one gripe about Quicktime it would be that it doesn't have the ability to easily crop a frame to an aspect ratio like VLC does, but then again, VLC doesn't compress either.
