Definitely. No one believed me in 'The Ring' thread when I kept telling them that the Japanese version is much scarier.. at last someone who's watched it! Heh...

One of my old friends was the star of that Almost Famous. His names Patrik Fugit and he played the main reporter kid. I haven't seen him in a long time though, I assume he has moved on to better things.

    As for my favorites:
    The Matrix
    Memento
    Ocean's Eleven
    Beverly Hills Cop
    Groundhog Day

    a few of mine.

    North by Northwest.
Among Hitchcock's greatest, I just picked one rather than spam the list with every movie he ever made.

    Pee-wee's Big Adventure
No laughing. This was Tim Burton's first full length film and established his and Paul Reuben's genius.

    Empire Strikes Back
No contest, the best Star Wars film, probably seen this through more times than any move other than maybe...

    The Princess Bride
I love pretty much everything about this. Cast, humor, action, dialog.

    The Life of Brian
In my opinion this is the superior Python movie.

Not on my list is Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
but the other 2 are good.

    Brazil
Terry Gilliam is another director whose stuff I pretty much all like, this is his best.

    Apocalypse Now
The reason Francis Ford Coppola will not be cast into one of the inner circles of hell for directing "Bram Stoker's Dracula."

I think that's enough for now.

I like a lot of different movies, some of my Favs are 8 Mile, Black Hawk Down, Jurrasic Park, XXX, Dances With Wolves, Thunderheart (I like Thunderheart because it is a good movie and was shot in South Dakota. My HS Principal was one of the stand ins, he is the guy getting the hub cap out of the river).

As funny as this sounds my all time fav is Days of Thunder.

Shawshank redemption - one of those movies that you have to watch whenever it comes on.

Van Wilder - one of the funnier movies with great dialogue

Christmas Vacation - Chevy Chases's best and Quaids also

Usual Suspects - just for the twist at the end and one of spacey's better movies also Del Tor was great

Seven - just for pure creepy factor plus Freeman, Spacey, Pitt were awesome

12 Monkeys kind of like pulp fiction jumping around a lot trying to follow the plot line through time plus Pitt was a great lunatic

Animal House, Weird Science, Fletch, Fast times at Ridgemont High, Porky's all great classics

WOAH... I just rented RINGU (Jap version of the Ring) and man oh man... scared me all over again. I think I liked it better because this version had an element of misticism that the US audience, for the most part, is too feeble minded to take in. I think I might have to go to church after that one...

Alright. Here we go, my list appears a little different than most here...

    1. Bridge on the River Kwai. Love it, and the origin of my signature quote...

    2. Vertigo. So my two favorite films are about the dark side of obsession.

    3. Dr. Strangelove. The only Kubrick film I really liked.

    4. Howard's End. Don't ask me why, I just love this one. Almost intercahngable with Remains of the Day.

    5. Lawrence of Arabia.

Round out the top 10 are
    6. The Empire Strikes Back
    7. Crimes and Misdemenors
    8. Citizen Kane
    9. Dead Again
    10. TIE: Clerks and Monty Python and the Holy Grail
