Dear forum users,

We are doing an academic research project on online service quality. We would be grateful if you could spare 3-5 minutes and complete our online questionnaire. The link for the questionnaire is provided below.

http://www.uwe.ac.uk/bbs/osq/

Thank you for your help and time.

P.S. The module leaders gave me permission to post this message.

EDIT:

We're doing a follow-up survey to finish this doctoral research. It has been decided by the faculty administration that one of the repsondents will win a Free 6GB iPod Mini (including free shipping) for her/his participation - this is open to everyone worldwide.

There are no open-ended questions in this questionnaire so it can be completed by only clicks.

There are two questionnaires: one about Hotmail, the other about Yahoo! Mail. These two websites were chosen because they are popular sites but this research is purely academic so data or results will not be shared with Microsoft Corporation or Yahoo! Inc.

Please enter your email only if you want to take part in the free iPod draw. Collected emails will not be used for any other purpose. When data collection finishes, the winner will be determined and contacted by email.

Link to Hotmail quesionnaire:

Link to Yahoo! Mail questionnaire:
http://www.uwe.ac.uk/bbs/osq/y.html

Please visit this link for more information about the research:

You can use the email on questionnaire pages if you have any questions.

Thank you for your time and participation.

Short survey. I had issues coming up with 5 things I look for much less 10. Having a listing of 15 or so rank-able ones would probably be easier.

Thanks for the suggestion but that would be against the aim of this survey. The aim of this survey is to find criteria that haven't been revealed before.

Well, I replied. My only critique of the survey is that I don't really "enjoy" service Web sites. They are a necessary evil; they're not fun. The best ones are simple and straightforward.

I enjoyed assisting you with the survey, it was easy.

Im actually struggling with this question: Would you switch to another online service provider which offers cheaper services even if you are satisfied with your current provider?

My current provider Earthlink has been very reliable so fear changing to an unknown. Also the problem with changing E.Mail addresses.

I know what you mean... That's why there is a question like that. For some people the prices mean everything for others it's the opposite.

Normally I have at least a thousand complaints about service sites, but of course faced with the survey, I had a hard time finding 5. still, it would be nice if these sites became more user-friendly, considering how much we all depend on them...

Will you be letting us know the results of this poll? Also what the results might lead to in the future?

A service I use often is online shopping. The survey excludes this, but I had a recent experience. I just bought a new hard drive. One place I found had the same drive for NZ$30 cheaper than my usual place. I bought from the cheap place, and it took them 9 days to deliver my drive  (most stuff from the other guys arrives after 2 days - 1 day for online payment processing* and 1 day for delivery).

Needless to say, I'm not buying from SuperCheapPC again

*I don't know why this can't be instant, I'm sure the technology is there.

If there are two things I can't stand, it's 'academics' and 'surveys.' Or maybe that was 'participation' and 'academics...' Or was it 'for' and 'survey?'

Completed the Hotmail one.

I think you have some grammatical errors in your questions. No, not the small stuff. I woudn't mention/complain about small errors. I'm talking about somewhat big and obvious errors.

Can you give some examples? English isn't my first language but the questionnaire was checked by others and noone noticed any mistakes.
