Your Photo of the Month -- October
This thread will serve as the area to submit one's photos, for the month of october.
In case you havent read 8 pages of 'photography', post your photo for this months given theme, where eventually a panel of judges [from this site] will review them.
1. must be a new photo
2. must relate to topic
3. post it in this thread only
4. Must relate to the theme 'spooky'
5. Prize and/or incentive to be determined
6. Only submit one photo per month
7. Be nice.
ah, tazo - what happened to the other thread with several pages of posts?
I'm baffled...... what's the theme for this month? Panther? What kind of photos are we talking about? Why do monkeys throw poo? Why does that kitty look like kibbles?
And so on....
the theme for this month is supposed to be 'spooky' and this thread is supposed to be just for submitting photos..but i digress
the other thread is gone tazo - did you delete your original post and end up deleting the whole thread?
Is it even possible for a non-moderator/admin to delete a thread?
Power of a demi-god.
If you delete the first post in a thread, evey other one goes with it.
Click edit on a post and read what it says next to "Delete?".
As had been discussed in the previous thread - using a single thread to post pics is not the way to go here. It will be too much of a mess and too difficult to view all the images if they come in between discussions of previous ones.....
And don't delete anymore of your posts.
why can't we delete our posts? that's one of the privileges we pay for here.
it is? I thought we were just being nice to arn
sure, if its just your post...but tazo did something stupid - he deleted his post, which was the first post in the thread that ended up deleting over 100 other posts, including discussion on logistics and planning for the contest. Not good and you have to realize why you shouldn't do it.
I should have said *don't delete any first posts in a thread*
yeah...ask before doing something u don't know what u are doing...
As a moderator could you bring the thread back? At least now we know not to delete the first post in a thread. The warning is appreciated. I have only done a delete post when I accidentally caused a duplicate.
i think that's the problem.... that because the one post was deleted (ie, erased entirely), the entire thread was.... it's not as though it were sent to the wasteland or something
it's just gone.
yep, it's just gone.....and if it happens again, there might be issues, so please don't do it.
Is it possible to create a thread where a person can only post a linked image and not type text?
So this isn't like your hard drive at home? If you know how or have the right program you can recover lost data. Just curious about the situation, thanks.
no its gone - that's why its an issue. Hopefully all the demis will learn that with their power comes responsibility. This hopefully won't happen again
As for photosubmissions only, no, that's not possible.
Okay we need a thread then with a stern warning at the top that says photo and descriptions only. All other posts will be deleted.
here are two of mine on the subject...as of now...I'll prolly change em
and this one too...
Well...considering all of the posts were offtopic...
in the old days, everyone had the ability to delete their own thread, and some got mad if they lost fifty posts on that one thread, but then again, how important could those fifty lost posts from one poster on one thread be?
i wish we still had the power to delete a thread we started because often one starts an honest thread, and other posters get nasty with it and hijack the thread...i am glad that the political threads do not count as posts though and some posters here on the rest of macrumors avoid the political section or have two different identities like desertrat or others
i used to also be networkman also but didn't use that other membership for anything special so i don't use it anymore
thought I'd drop something in for good measure...
