    1. Camino http://www.caminobrowser.org/
    2. Transmission http://transmission.m0k.org/
    3. launchd http://launchd.macosforge.org/
    4. Fink http://fink.sourceforge.net/
    5. Privoxy http://www.privoxy.org/
    6. UNO http://gui.interacto.net/
    7. Quicksilver (bit buggy but… meh) http://quicksilver.blacktree.com/
    8. Vienna http://www.opencommunity.co.uk/vienna2.php
    9. Smultron http://smultron.sourceforge.net/
    10. Aperture (when I am able to get it to work on Intel) http://www.apple.com/uk/aperture/

I like using a lightweight browser, and anything that would otherwise be controlled using advanced features can be manipulated using privoxy. Privoxy and clam anti-virus are run on demand using launchd and I use quicksilver with keyboard shortcuts (triggers) for all my most used apps. All installed by Fink of course.

In fact there are a plethora of 'favorite app' threads...1, 3, 5, 10, etc. People start them all the time.
