Important Information About the PowerBook 1400 ATA Flash

Extension

The PowerBook 1400 ATA Flash Extension corrects a problem

that can occur with certain ATA Flash PCMCIA cards.

Who Needs to Install this Extension?

You should install this extension if you use ATA Flash

PCMCIA cards with a PowerBook 1400. (Flash cards are often

used with digital cameras.)

The PowerBook 1400 read-only memory (ROM) contains an ATA

driver, which is software that tells the PowerBook how to

recognize ATA Flash PCMCIA cards. There is an error in this

ATA driver; when you insert an initialized Flash card, the

PowerBook may erroneously prompt you to initialize the card,

even though the card is properly initialized and may even

contain data.

The PowerBook 1400 ATA Flash Extension installs a new ATA

driver that corrects this problem.

Installing the PowerBook 1400 ATA Flash Extension

Folder on your hard disk.
