Customizing Terminal

Terminal has many features that allow you to customize your settings and work more efficiently. Here are a few ways Terminal be customized:

Flexible interface:

Terminal has an improved interface including a new preferences window allowing you to customize and manage new settings. Terminal comes with a number of settings already pre-made for you. You can export settings and window groups just by dragging them to the Finder, and import them just by dragging them into the preferences.

Tabs in windows

You can now add multiple tabs to a Terminal window. Each tab can have a different configuration and you can switch between the tabs with just a click.

Window groups

You save the configurations of all your open windows as a window group. A window group can contain multiple window locations, settings,and shell configurations. You can then have your custom window group open automatically, or choose it from the menu.

Settings

Terminal gives users more ways to customize its looks and behavior. Saved settings are displayed in an easy to manage list. You can set the background color, and the color of the text so they are easy to read, or choose a different color for each environment you work in. You can adjust the opacity of the window, so you can view other windows below. You can even export your settings so the can be used on another system.
